Pinback is an American indie rock duo formed in 1998 in San Diego, California, comprised of Zach Smith and Arman Guiragossian. Initially a side project stemming from their work with Three Mile Pilot and The Push Kings respectively, Pinback quickly evolved into their primary musical outlet. They are renowned for their distinctive sound – a blend of atmospheric post-rock, intricate guitar work (often utilizing extended range instruments), and Smith’s understated, melodic vocals.

Throughout their career, Pinback has released six studio albums, beginning with *Pinback* (2001) and most recently *Atlas* (2012). Their music frequently incorporates elements of electronic music and experimental sound design. They gained significant traction within the indie scene through extensive touring and consistent critical acclaim, particularly for albums like *Same Parts* (2004) and *Divisible Point* (2007).
