Joyce Manor is an American rock band formed in Torrance, California in 2008. Initially a pop-punk outfit, the band—currently comprised of Barry Johnson (vocals/guitar), Chase Knobloch (guitar), Matt Uelmen (bass), and Jeff Donovan (drums)—evolved towards a more emotionally resonant and introspective indie rock sound. Their early EPs garnered attention within the DIY scene, leading to a signing with Tooth & Nail Records for their 2011 debut album, *The Bedroom Door*.
Breakthrough came with 2014’s *Nothing Good Happens After 2 AM*, showcasing increasingly complex songwriting and cementing their status as a prominent act in the emo/power-pop revival. Subsequent albums *Cody* (2016) and *Million Dollars to Burn* (2018) continued this trajectory, exploring themes of anxiety, relationships, and self-doubt.
