Caroline Polachek (often simply known as Caroline) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer whose career began in the indie-pop duo Chairlift in 2006. Chairlift gained recognition for their song "Bruises," featured in a viral iPod Nano commercial. Following Chairlift’s disbandment in 2016, Polachek launched her solo career with the critically acclaimed *Arcadia* (2019).
Her music blends art-pop, electronic, and experimental elements with a distinctive vocal style characterized by wide-ranging melodies and operatic influences – stemming from her classical vocal training. *Pang* (2019), her breakthrough album, further solidified her reputation for innovative production and emotionally resonant songwriting.
