Skwodam (born David Oladimeji in Lagos, Nigeria, 1997) is a rapidly ascending Afrobeats artist and producer known for his distinctive blend of amapiano, highlife, and traditional Yoruba sounds. He began his music career in 2018, initially gaining traction as a producer for other emerging artists within the Lagos music scene.
His breakthrough came with the independently released single “Kilode” in 2022, which garnered significant streaming numbers and viral attention on TikTok, propelling him onto wider playlists. Skwodam’s sound is characterized by intricate log drum patterns, melodic vocal delivery often incorporating Yoruba phrases, and a focus on creating vibrant, danceable tracks.
He followed "Kilode" with the EP *New Wave* (2023), further solidifying his unique sonic identity. Skwodam has collaborated with artists like Khaid and Zlatan Ibile, demonstrating his growing influence.
