The Royal Albert Hall opened in 1871 and was originally named in memory of Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria. It’s a distinctive circular building constructed primarily of iron and glass, holding approximately 5,234 seats. Throughout its history, it has hosted a diverse range of events including classical concerts, rock and pop performances, ballet, film screenings, and sporting events. The Hall is particularly known for its association with the annual BBC Proms festival which has been held there since 1941.
