Experience Yannick Nézet-Séguin live on February 13th
Yannick Nézet-Séguin will conduct a concert at the Musikverein in Vienna on February 13, 2027. Nézet-Séguin is a French-Canadian conductor internationally recognized for his energetic and insightful interpretations across a broad repertoire, ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. He is particularly noted for his emotionally charged performances of Romantic and operatic works, often emphasizing clarity of orchestral texture and dramatic nuance. He currently holds the positions of Music Director of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and Artistic Director of the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal, amongst others.
The Musikverein, home to the Vienna Philharmonic, is a historically significant concert hall inaugurated in 1870. Designed by Hans Semper, its architecture is Neo-Renaissance in style. The building’s most renowned feature is its Golden Hall (“Goldener Saal”), celebrated globally for its exceptional acoustics. This acoustic quality stems from its shoebox shape, the use of over 6,000 individual wooden components in its construction – specifically sourced from spruce trees – and the lack of parallel surfaces.
