Evgeny Kissin will perform at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria on March 12, 2027. Kissin is internationally renowned for his intensely passionate and technically brilliant piano playing. His repertoire spans a wide range, from the Romantic composers like Rachmaninoff and Chopin – with whom he is particularly associated – to classical masters such as Beethoven and Mozart, as well as 20th and 21st-century works. He is known for his deeply expressive interpretations and powerful stage presence, often performing entirely from memory.

The Musikverein, home to the Vienna Philharmonic, holds significant historical and musical importance. Completed in 1870, it was designed by Hans Hansen in the Neo-Renaissance style. Its primary concert hall, the Großer Musikvereinssaal, is celebrated globally for its exceptional acoustics; largely attributed to the hall’s rectangular shape, wooden interior construction and the lack of parallel surfaces. This acoustic quality has made it a preferred venue for orchestral recordings and performances since the early days of radio broadcasting. The building also serves as a social hub for the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien (Society of Music Friends in Vienna), its founding organization.
