Xiu Xiu will perform at 2220 Arts + Archives in Los Angeles on October 2nd, 2026. The musical project, primarily led by Jamie Stewart, is known for its experimental and often abrasive sound. Characterized by elements of noise, electronic music, and deconstructed pop, Xiu Xiu’s work frequently explores themes of trauma, sexuality, and the darker aspects of human experience. Instrumentation is diverse, incorporating synthesizers, sampling, and unconventional use of acoustic instruments alongside Stewart’s distinctive vocal delivery. The band has released numerous albums since forming in 2002 and maintains a consistent touring schedule.

2220 Arts + Archives is a non-profit arts space located in a former Masonic temple in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles. Originally built in 1923, the building served as a Masonic lodge until the mid-20th century. It was subsequently used for various purposes before being acquired and renovated to function as an art venue. The space focuses on presenting contemporary art, performance art, film screenings and music performances with an emphasis on supporting emerging and underrepresented artists. Its architecture retains many original features of the historic building adding to its unique atmosphere.
