Wynton Marsalis will perform at the Ikeda Theatre in Mesa, Arizona on February 27, 2027. Marsalis is a trumpeter, composer, and educator primarily recognized for his mastery of and advocacy for jazz music. His style encompasses a broad range within the genre, deeply rooted in the traditions of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and other foundational figures, but also extending into classical music, blues, and funk. He frequently leads both small ensemble and large orchestral performances. Throughout his career he has championed the importance of jazz as an American art form.

The Ikeda Theatre is located on the campus of Mesa Community College. Opened in 1986, it serves as a significant performing arts venue for the East Valley region of Phoenix. The theatre is designed to accommodate a diverse range of performances including theatre productions, dance recitals, musical concerts and lectures. It features a proscenium stage and a seating capacity of approximately 1,300.
