The Byham Theater opened in 1903 as a vaudeville house initially named the Garrick Theater. It was later renamed the Loew’s Palace before becoming the Byham in 1978 following extensive renovations undertaken by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The theater is characterized by its ornate Beaux-Arts architecture and intimate seating capacity of approximately 1,300. It now functions as a multi-purpose venue hosting a diverse array of performances including theater, dance, concerts, and lectures.
