Widespread Panic will perform at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California on July 18, 2026. The band is recognized for a musical style blending Southern rock, blues, jazz, and psychedelic elements, often categorized within the jam band scene. Formed in Athens, Georgia in 1986, they are known for their extensive improvisational live performances and dedicated fanbase. Their repertoire includes original compositions alongside covers spanning various genres.

The Fox Theater Oakland originally opened in 1929 as a lavish movie palace designed by architect Henry C. Meyer Jr. It operated as a premier entertainment venue for decades showcasing films and live performances. Following a period of decline and closure in the 1960s, it underwent significant restoration spearheaded by Phil Shafer and reopened in 2009.

Today, the Fox Theater functions as a multi-purpose venue hosting concerts, comedy shows, and other live events. The restored theater retains much of its original Art Deco architectural detailing including ornate plasterwork and a grand lobby. Its acoustics are considered favorable for musical performances and it has become a prominent location on the national touring circuit with a capacity of approximately 2,722.
