Vivian Girls are an American indie rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 2006. Their music is generally characterized by a lo-fi aesthetic, incorporating elements of noise pop, garage rock revival, and girl group sounds. Often featuring dual female vocals and reverb-drenched guitars, their songs typically explore themes of teenage alienation and relationships. The band initially gained prominence in the late 2000s as part of a burgeoning scene centered around independent labels like Captured Tracks. Following a period of inactivity after disbanding in 2016, they reunited in 2018 and have since released new material and resumed touring.
