The Vienna Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria on December 5th, 2026. The orchestra is internationally renowned for its interpretations of both traditional Viennese classical repertoire and 20th and 21st-century works. The Musikverein, home to the concert, is a world-famous concert hall celebrated for its exceptional acoustics. Completed in 1870, it was designed by Hans Hansen as a building for musical societies rather than royalty – hence its name translating to “Music Association”. The Golden Hall (Goldener Saal), where the orchestra will perform, is particularly esteemed; its shoebox shape and wooden interior contribute significantly to its renowned sound quality. It annually hosts the Vienna New Year’s Concert which is broadcast globally. The hall's acoustics are largely due to the specific type of wood used in construction and the lack of parallel surfaces within the Golden Hall.
