The Vienna Philharmonic will perform at the Wichita Orpheum Theatre in Wichita, Kansas on December 3, 2026. The Wichita Orpheum Theatre opened in 1926 as a vaudeville and movie palace, quickly becoming a significant entertainment venue for the city. Designed by Boller Brothers architects, it showcased a blend of Italian Renaissance and Spanish Baroque architectural styles. After decades of operation, the theatre faced decline and eventual closure in 1976. A substantial restoration project began in 2000 led by Friends of the Orpheum, a non-profit organization dedicated to its preservation. The restored Orpheum reopened in 2002 and now functions as a performing arts center hosting diverse events including concerts, Broadway shows, and community performances. Its acoustics have been specifically adapted to accommodate orchestral performances during its renovation.
