Hull City Hall opened in 1929 as part of a larger municipal building complex. Designed by Joseph Hirst, it was conceived as a venue for public meetings, concerts, and theatrical performances. The hall’s architecture reflects the Neoclassical style prevalent during its construction period, featuring a grand auditorium with ornate detailing and excellent acoustics. Throughout its history, Hull City Hall has hosted a diverse range of artists and events, becoming a significant cultural landmark within the city and the wider region. It underwent a major refurbishment completed in 2017 which aimed to preserve its historic features while enhancing audience facilities and technical capabilities. The hall is owned by Hull City Council.
