Trio Orelon, comprised of violinist Mathilde Milwidsky, pianist Julien Quentin, and cellist Adrien Frénay, will perform at the Musikverein in Vienna on March 31, 2027. The ensemble is recognized for its interpretations of both established chamber music repertoire and lesser-known works, often focusing on the Romantic and early 20th-century periods. The Musikverein, home to the Vienna Philharmonic, holds significant historical and acoustic importance. Opened in 1870, it was designed by Hans Hansen Baumgarten and is renowned globally for its exceptional acoustics – particularly within the Golden Hall (Goldener Saal). This hall’s design deliberately eschewed the then-popular shoebox shape in favor of a rectangular form inspired by ancient Greek temples. The hall's wooden interior panels and architectural features contribute to its warm, resonant sound that has been favored by numerous prominent musicians throughout history.
