Tonkünstler-Orchester, established in 1902, is a renowned Austrian orchestra with a broad repertoire spanning from the classical and romantic periods through to contemporary compositions. The ensemble is particularly recognized for its interpretations of works by Austrian composers such as Bruckner, Mahler, and Strauss, but regularly performs music from across the orchestral canon. It maintains a strong presence both domestically within Austria and internationally through touring and recordings.

The concert on November 28th, 2026 will take place at the Musikverein in Vienna. This concert hall is globally celebrated for its exceptional acoustics and is considered one of the world’s premier musical venues. Built in 1870, the Musikverein was designed by Hans Hansen as a home for the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde (Society of Music Friends) – an organization still actively involved with the hall today.

Its Golden Hall, where the Tonkünstler-Orchester will perform, is famed for its shoebox shape and wooden interior construction which contribute significantly to its warm, resonant sound. The hall hosts over 600 events annually, including concerts by the Vienna Philharmonic – its resident orchestra – and a wide range of other ensembles and soloists.
