Experience Tonkünstler-Orchester live on November 13th
Tonkünstler-Orchester Wien, established in 1972 through the merger of several Lower Austrian orchestras, is recognized for its versatile repertoire spanning from the Classical and Romantic periods to contemporary works. The orchestra frequently collaborates with internationally renowned soloists and focuses on a broad range of orchestral literature, maintaining a strong regional connection while touring internationally.
The concert on November 13, 2026, will be held at the Musikverein in Vienna. This venue is globally esteemed for its exceptional acoustics and architectural significance. Completed in 1870, designed by Hans von Hansmann, the Musikverein was built as the home of the Vienna Concert Society. Its Golden Hall (“Goldener Saal”) is particularly celebrated; its design eschewed the then-popular shoebox shape in favor of a rectangular hall inspired by Italian Renaissance palazzos. This unique design, along with specific materials used in its construction – notably the wood used for instruments and panelling – contributes to its warm and resonant sound quality. The Musikverein regularly hosts the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and serves as a prominent location for classical music performances worldwide. The building also houses smaller halls used for chamber music and other events.
