Toninho Horta will perform at Kings Place, London on July 5th, 2026. Horta is a highly respected Brazilian guitarist and composer central to the development of Clube da Esquina, a significant movement in Brazilian popular music originating in Belo Horizonte in the late 1960s and early 1970s. His musical style blends elements of samba, jazz harmony, and bossa nova with a distinctive, lyrical guitar approach. He’s known for complex chord voicings, intricate fingerstyle playing, and compositions often characterized by melodic beauty and harmonic sophistication. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous prominent musicians including Milton Nascimento and Elis Regina.

Kings Place is a purpose-built arts venue situated in the London borough of Camden. Opened in 2000, it was developed as part of the regeneration of the St Pancras area following the construction of the Channel Tunnel rail link. The building houses two principal performance spaces: Hall One, designed primarily for classical music and larger-scale contemporary performances; and Studio Two, a more intimate space used for jazz, world music, and spoken word events. It also incorporates art galleries exhibiting both established and emerging artists alongside a café and restaurant.
