St Giles’ Cripplegate is a historic parish church located in the Barbican area of London. Originally founded in 1123, the current building largely dates from the mid-14th century, with significant Victorian restoration work undertaken by George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is notable for its prominent spire – one of the few to survive the Great Fire of London in 1666 – and its association with Oliver Cromwell, who held a parliamentary commission there during the Interregnum.
