Tianyi Lu, a Chinese-Canadian pianist recognized for her deeply expressive interpretations and technical brilliance, will perform at La Maison Symphonique de Montréal on November 19, 2026. Her repertoire spans a broad range, encompassing works from the Baroque period to contemporary compositions, with a particular affinity for Romantic-era pieces by composers like Rachmaninoff and Chopin. Lu’s playing is often described as possessing both power and nuance, characterized by a refined touch and a compelling emotional connection to the music. She gained international attention after winning the International Chopin Piano Competition in 2021.

La Maison Symphonique de Montréal, home to the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, is renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Completed in 1943 as Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, it underwent significant renovations between 2009 and 2014 led by Provencher_Roy architectes. These renovations focused on enhancing the hall’s acoustic properties and improving audience comfort while preserving its architectural heritage. The hall is celebrated for its warm sound and clarity, making it a favoured venue for orchestral performances, chamber music, and solo recitals.
