The Style Council, the influential British band formed by Paul Weller and Mick Talbot in 1983 following the dissolution of The Jam, will be performing at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle upon Tyne on January 30, 2027. Their music blended elements of soul, jazz, and pop with a distinctly British lyrical sensibility, moving beyond the mod revival roots of their predecessor to create a sophisticated and politically conscious sound. Key tracks include “Shout to the Top!”, “Walls Come Tumbling Down!” and “A Solid Bond”. The band initially disbanded in 1989 but have since reunited for select performances.

Wylam Brewery is located within the Palace of Art, a Grade II listed building originally constructed in 1910 as a progressive social club for workers. Designed by architects Cackett & Burns Dick, it served as a leisure facility featuring a swimming bath, gymnasium, ballroom and reading room. After periods of varied use including as a nightclub and bingo hall, it underwent extensive restoration and reopened as Wylam Brewery in 2018.
