Blue Note Jazz Club, located in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, has been a prominent venue for jazz music since its founding in 1981. However, the location’s history with jazz extends much further back; it originally opened as a venue called Visiona in 1967 before undergoing changes in ownership and focus. It is widely regarded as one of the most important jazz clubs in the world, having hosted countless legendary performers throughout its history – including Miles Davis, John Coltrane (prior to 1981), and many others post-1981 such as Wynton Marsalis and Norah Jones.
