The Necks, an Australian instrumental trio comprised of Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass), will perform at palác Akropolis in Prague, Czechia on September 17, 2026. Their music is characterized by slowly evolving soundscapes, minimalist compositions, and a focus on improvisation. Often described as ambient, drone, or post-jazz, The Necks build extended pieces through subtle shifts in texture and dynamics, eschewing traditional song structures in favour of a hypnotic and immersive experience. They have been performing together since 1987 and are internationally recognised for their unique approach to instrumental music.

palác Akropolis itself holds a significant place in Prague’s cultural landscape. Originally built as a cinema in 1954 during the socialist era, it underwent extensive reconstruction following the Velvet Revolution.
