The Minus 5 is scheduled to perform at Bowery Ballroom in New York City on August 7, 2026. The band, a project spearheaded by Scott McCaughey of The Young Fresh Fellows and The Baseball Project, creates power pop music often characterized by melodic songwriting, layered instrumentation, and a strong emphasis on classic rock and roll influences. Their sound frequently incorporates elements of Big Star, The Beatles, and other foundational bands of the genre. Over their career, The Minus 5 has released numerous albums featuring a rotating cast of prominent indie rock musicians as collaborators.

Bowery Ballroom, located in Manhattan’s East Village, opened in 1998 and has become a highly respected venue for both established and emerging artists. Originally constructed as a German beer hall in the late 19th century, the building underwent significant renovations to transform it into a performance space while retaining much of its original architectural detail. Known for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere – holding approximately 575 people – it's consistently ranked among New York City’s best live music venues. It's hosted performances across many genres including indie rock, alternative, and pop.
