The 100 Club, located on Oxford Street, holds significant historical importance within British music culture. Originally established as a jazz club in 1942 by George Atkinson, it quickly became a key venue for visiting American jazz musicians during World War II and the post-war period. Throughout the 1950s and 60s, it transitioned to become a pivotal location for early British rock and roll and rhythm & blues; hosting performances by artists such as Buddy Holly, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks.

The venue has maintained its status as a live music space ever since, continuing to showcase diverse genres while retaining its intimate atmosphere and association with musical heritage. It is recognised as one of the oldest operating small music venues in the world.
