The Glenn Miller Orchestra is scheduled to perform at Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool on January 10, 2027. The orchestra is renowned for its performances of classic big band jazz from the 1930s and 1940s, a style characterized by arrangements featuring sections of trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and a rhythm section – typically piano, bass, drums and guitar. Their repertoire includes instantly recognizable tunes such as “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” and “Sing Sing Sing,” representing a significant era in popular music history.

Philharmonic Hall opened in 1849 as a venue for orchestral concerts and has undergone several renovations throughout its history. Originally known as the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, it stands as one of the oldest concert halls in Europe still operating continuously. The building’s architecture reflects Victorian design principles with later additions reflecting Edwardian styles. It's noted for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere, seating approximately 1,600 people. The hall has hosted numerous internationally acclaimed orchestras and performers across various genres since its inception, becoming a cultural landmark within the city of Liverpool. It remains the home of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
