The Tetzlaff Quartet is scheduled to perform at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria on May 25, 2027. The quartet, comprised of Christian Tetzlaff, Silke Aschenbrenner, Tanja Tetzlaff and Andreas Alt, is renowned for its intensely focused and intellectually probing interpretations of chamber music. The Musikverein, home to the Vienna Philharmonic, holds significant historical and acoustical importance. Completed in 1870, it was designed by Hans Semper and features an Italian Renaissance style exterior. Crucially, the building’s exceptional acoustics stem from its rectangular shape and wooden interior construction – specifically the use of over 17,000 individual wooden components without a single nail used in their assembly. This unique construction contributes to the warm, resonant sound that has made the Golden Hall one of the most celebrated concert venues in the world.
