Teenage Fanclub, a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Bellshill in 1989, will be performing at Real Teatro de Las Cortes in San Fernando, Cádiz, Spain on October 4th, 2026. The band is known for its melodic guitar pop, often drawing comparisons to The Byrds and Big Star, and characterized by intricate arrangements, layered harmonies, and a blend of jangly and distorted guitar sounds. Throughout their career, they’ve navigated power pop, indie rock and shoegaze influences while maintaining a consistent focus on strong songwriting.

Real Teatro de Las Cortes is a historical building originally constructed in 1910 as a theatre dedicated to zarzuela – a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre combining opera, musical theatre and spoken word. It underwent significant restoration work completed in 2018 after a period of disuse and deterioration. The theatre maintains many of its original architectural features including ornate plasterwork and tiered seating. It now functions as a multi-purpose performance space hosting a variety of events including theatre productions, concerts, dance performances and conferences; it is considered an important cultural landmark within the municipality of San Fernando.
