Festspielhaus Bregenz is renowned internationally, primarily for its annual Bregenz Festival which features primarily opera performances – notably large-scale productions staged on a floating stage on Lake Constance directly adjacent to the Festspielhaus. Completed in 1981, the building itself is architecturally significant, designed by Swiss architect Werner Sobek. The hall is noted for its excellent acoustics and flexible design allowing for varied stage configurations.
