The SWR Symphonieorchester will perform at Konzerthaus Freiburg (P2) on July 1st, 2026. The orchestra is recognized for its broad repertoire encompassing works from the Baroque period through contemporary compositions, with a particular strength in German Romantic and 20th-century music. It frequently commissions new works and collaborates with internationally renowned soloists. The ensemble operates as one of three orchestras within the South West German Broadcasting (SWR) Symphony Orchestra network, alongside orchestras based in Stuttgart and Kaiserslautern.

Konzerthaus Freiburg (P2), situated in the historic district of Freiburg im Breisgau, opened in 2022. Designed by Architekten von Mühlen, it represents a significant investment in the city’s cultural infrastructure. The building’s name “P2” references its location as the second concert hall within Freiburg’s cultural quarter, complementing the existing Konzerthaus Freiburg (established 1996). The venue is noted for its modern acoustics and adaptable design allowing for performances ranging from orchestral concerts to chamber music and electroacoustic productions.
