The SWR Symphonieorchester will perform at Konzerthaus Freiburg (P2) on June 27, 2027. The orchestra is recognized for its broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary music, with a particular strength in German Romantic and 20th-century works. It frequently commissions new pieces and collaborates with internationally renowned soloists. The ensemble maintains a tradition of historically informed performance practice alongside a commitment to modern interpretations.

Konzerthaus Freiburg (P2), located in the historic district of Freiburg im Breisgau, opened in 2022. Designed by architects Auer Weber Assoziierte, the hall is specifically engineered for orchestral sound, featuring adjustable acoustics to accommodate diverse musical genres. “P2” refers to its position as the second concert hall within the larger Konzerthaus complex – the first being a smaller chamber music hall. The building incorporates sustainable design principles and aims to be a significant cultural hub for the region. Prior to the opening of Konzerthaus Freiburg, large orchestral performances in Freiburg were primarily held at the Stadthalle Freiburg, which offered less specialized acoustic conditions. The Konzerthaus project was driven by a desire to provide a dedicated venue optimized for classical music performance.
