Stephan Micus will perform at MaHalla in Berlin on July 4th, 2026. Micus is a German musician known for his innovative work with acoustic instruments from around the world. His compositions frequently blend elements of new age, world music, and minimalist classical styles. He is particularly recognized for his extended solo performances utilizing a diverse collection of stringed instruments – often self-made or modified – including guitars, bass guitars, and various plucked and bowed instruments from different cultures. His music emphasizes texture, resonance, and cyclical patterns, creating immersive soundscapes.

MaHalla is a cultural center located in the Neukölln district of Berlin. Originally constructed as a Turkish bathhouse (“Hamam”) in 1886 by Carl Schinkel’s student Wilhelm Böckmann, it served that purpose until the 1970s. Following a period of disuse, it was repurposed as a venue for cultural events in the late 20th century. The building retains significant architectural features from its original design, including ornate tilework and a central dome.
