Space Jam is scheduled to perform at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, California on July 16, 2026. The musical project, Space Jam, blends elements of funk, soul, and psychedelic rock, often incorporating improvisational jams and extended instrumental passages. Their sound is characterized by layered textures, prominent bass lines, and a generally energetic stage presence. The group gained recognition within the jam band scene beginning in the early 2010s, building a following through consistent touring and online music sharing.

The Crest Theatre originally opened in 1939 as a single-screen movie palace designed in the Art Deco style. Architecturally significant for its streamlined moderne design and ornate interior detailing, it served as Sacramento’s premier cinema for several decades. Facing potential demolition in the 1980s, a community-led preservation effort successfully saved the theatre.

Today, the Crest Theatre operates as a non-profit performing arts venue hosting a diverse range of events including concerts, film screenings (including classic movies), comedy shows, and community gatherings. It has undergone restoration work to maintain its historical character while upgrading its technical capabilities for modern performances. The venue’s capacity is approximately 1400 people.
