Sonic Interventions is a musical collective known for their explorations of sound as a spatial and sculptural element. Festsaal Kreuzberg, located in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, has a significant history rooted in the city’s socio-political landscape. Originally built in 1969 as a community hall for the workers of the Siemens Matsushita factory, it quickly became a focal point for alternative culture and political activism during the 1970s and 80s. The venue hosted numerous protests, debates, and performances by artists critical of the prevailing political climate.

Following a period of closure and renovation in the early 2000s, Festsaal Kreuzberg reopened as a concert venue and event space. It maintains its commitment to diverse programming, encompassing genres like jazz, world music, experimental electronic music, and independent rock. The building’s architecture features a large, flexible hall with notable acoustics and retains elements of its original industrial aesthetic.
