The Singapore Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay on May 16, 2027. The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is recognized as one of Southeast Asia’s leading orchestras, consistently delivering performances spanning a broad repertoire. While capable of performing works from all major classical periods, the SSO has cultivated a reputation for its interpretations of both standard orchestral pieces and contemporary compositions, often commissioning works by composers from the region. They frequently collaborate with internationally renowned soloists and conductors.

The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, commonly known as the Esplanade, opened in October 2002. Its design, inspired by the durian fruit and the orchid, is a prominent feature of the Marina Bay waterfront. It serves as a performing arts centre encompassing a Concert Hall, a Theatre, and various smaller spaces dedicated to music, dance, theatre and visual arts. Beyond hosting international and local performances, the Esplanade actively promotes artistic development and engagement within Singapore through community programs and outreach initiatives. The building's distinctive roof features triangular sunshades that contribute to natural lighting while mitigating heat gain. It represents a significant investment in Singapore’s cultural infrastructure.
