The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) will perform at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay on March 5, 2027. The SSO is recognized as Singapore’s flagship orchestra and performs a broad repertoire encompassing classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and cross-genre collaborations. Established in 1979, the orchestra is known for its commitment to artistic excellence and its role in developing Singapore’s musical landscape, frequently commissioning new works and engaging in community outreach programs. Its musical style is generally characterized by a blend of technical precision and expressive interpretation, reflecting both Western orchestral traditions and influences from the region.

The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, often referred to simply as the Esplanade, opened in October 2002. Designed by local architectural firm RSP Architects Planners & Engineers in collaboration with Michael Wilford & Partners, its distinctive design featuring a spiky dome structure has become an iconic landmark of the Singapore skyline. The complex houses a Concert Hall seating approximately 1,600 patrons, a Theatre seating around 980, the Esplanade Recital Studio, and an outdoor theatre space.
