The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is scheduled to perform at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay on January 15, 2027. The SSO, founded in 1979, is recognized as Singapore’s flagship orchestra and performs a broad repertoire encompassing classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and cross-genre collaborations. While rooted in the traditional orchestral sound, the SSO frequently incorporates Southeast Asian influences and commissions works by local composers, reflecting a commitment to both international standards and regional artistic identity.

The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, commonly known as the Esplanade, opened in October 2002. It is a performing arts centre situated on the waterfront of Marina Bay. Designed by Michael Wilford and James Stirling, its distinctive architecture—often likened to durian or eyes—is a prominent feature of Singapore’s skyline. The complex houses a Concert Hall seating approximately 1,800 people and a Theatre accommodating around 2,000. Beyond these main venues, the Esplanade also features outdoor spaces for performances and public enjoyment.
