Shake Stew, a German musical ensemble, will perform at Festspielhaus Erl in Erl, Austria on October 3, 2026. The group is known for its eclectic blend of jazz, funk, and elements of traditional Bavarian folk music – often described as “Bavarian Funk” – incorporating brass instruments, driving rhythms and improvisational sections. They have cultivated a dedicated following through extensive touring and several album releases since their formation in the early 2000s.

Festspielhaus Erl is a unique performance venue situated in the Tyrolean Alps. Originally constructed as a private festival house by industrialist Hans Lang in the 1970s to showcase Wagnerian opera, it underwent significant architectural expansion and renovation led by architect Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, completed in 2013. This expansion resulted in a striking juxtaposition of the original round building with a dramatically angular, concrete extension.

The venue now hosts a diverse program beyond opera, including orchestral concerts, chamber music performances, and contemporary music events. Its acoustics are highly regarded, specifically designed to accommodate both intimate recitals and large-scale orchestral works within its unconventional spaces.
