Classical Concerts in San Francisco

Experience Seong-Jin Cho live on March 1st

Seong-Jin Cho will perform at Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco on March 1, 2027. Cho is a South Korean classical pianist recognized for his poetic and nuanced interpretations, often characterized by a delicate touch and refined phrasing. He gained international acclaim after winning the First Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. His repertoire spans a broad range of composers, though he is particularly celebrated for his performances of Chopin, Debussy, and Mozart.

Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, completed in 1980, serves as the permanent home of the San Francisco Symphony. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the hall is known for its excellent acoustics – achieved through a vineyard-style seating arrangement encircling the stage – and its relatively intimate capacity of approximately 2,707 seats. The hall underwent significant renovations completed in 2013 which focused on improving accessibility and enhancing audience experience while preserving its core acoustic qualities. It frequently hosts a variety of orchestral performances, chamber music concerts, and solo recitals featuring internationally renowned artists. The hall is located within the War Memorial Veterans Building complex in San Francisco’s Civic Center.
