Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, opened in 1980, is the permanent home of the San Francisco Symphony. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the hall is known for its excellent acoustics which were significantly enhanced through a major renovation completed in 2013. The renovation focused on improving sound quality and audience experience while preserving the hall’s original architectural features. The hall seats approximately 2,707 patrons and hosts a wide range of orchestral performances, chamber music concerts, and other events throughout the year. It’s situated within the larger Yerba Buena Center for the Arts complex in downtown San Francisco.
