Samara Joy is a vocalist specializing in jazz, particularly noted for her interpretations of the Great American Songbook. Her style draws heavily from Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, emphasizing vocal clarity, scat singing, and a warm, intimate tone. She gained prominence after winning the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2019 and has since released critically acclaimed albums including “Linger Awhile” which won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, Vermont, serves as the region’s premier performing arts venue. Originally opened in 1937 as a movie palace named the Paramount Theatre, it underwent significant renovations and reopened as The Flynn in 1988.
