The Corn Exchange Bedford is a historic building originally constructed in 1809 as a marketplace for grain. Throughout the 19th century, it served as a central hub for agricultural trade in the region. In 1935, it was repurposed as a cinema, operating under various names including the Regal and Essoldo. Following periods of closure and disrepair, significant restoration work was undertaken and it reopened in 2018 as a multi-purpose arts venue. The building retains many of its original architectural features while now functioning as a space for live music performances, theatre productions, comedy shows and community events. It’s capacity is approximately 650 standing or 450 seated.
