Romain Leleu is a French trumpet player recognized internationally for his virtuosity and innovative approach to the instrument. His musical style blends classical repertoire with jazz, contemporary compositions, and world music influences, often characterized by lyrical phrasing and technical brilliance. He frequently commissions new works and collaborates with artists across genres, expanding the traditional boundaries of trumpet performance.

The concert will take place at the Site archéologique de Glanum, located near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in southern France. Glanum was a significant city founded by the Salyens, a Ligurian people, around the 2nd century BC. It later became Romanized, flourishing particularly during the 1st century BC and 1st century AD. The site showcases well-preserved remains including a temple complex dedicated to imperial worship, residential areas, shops, and a monumental arch – the Trophy of Augustus – commemorating his victory over Sextus Pompeius.

Archaeological excavations began in the early 20th century revealing insights into daily life in both pre-Roman and Roman Gaul. The setting offers a unique historical backdrop for musical performances due to its atmospheric ruins and connection to ancient civilizations. The acoustics within the site are also considered favorable for outdoor concerts.
