Romain Leleu is a celebrated French trumpeter renowned for his virtuosity and diverse musical explorations. Born in 1978, he began trumpet studies at age eight and quickly distinguished himself, winning the prestigious Maurice André Début Prize in 1992. He graduated with highest honors from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

Leleu’s career spans both orchestral and solo performance. He served as principal trumpet of the Orchestre National de France for ten years before focusing entirely on a flourishing solo career. His repertoire extends far beyond traditional classical works; he actively commissions new pieces and collaborates across genres, including jazz, world music, and electronic soundscapes.

He's a dedicated educator, holding professorships at institutions like the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Leleu has released numerous critically acclaimed albums – notably those exploring baroque trumpet alongside ensembles like L’Arpeggiata – earning him Diapason d’Or awards and widespread recognition for his innovative interpretations and technical brilliance. He frequently performs internationally as a soloist with leading orchestras and at major festivals.
