Rodrigo y Gabriela are a Mexican acoustic guitar duo renowned for their energetic and virtuosic performances. Their music blends flamenco, rock, and metal influences, characterized by rapid-fire strumming, percussive techniques on the guitar bodies, and complex rhythmic interplay. Originally busking on the streets of Ireland in the late 1990s, they gained international recognition through independent album releases and extensive touring.

The Columbia Theater in Berlin serves as the venue for their performance on April 18th, 2027. Opened in 1910, the theater initially functioned as a variety stage hosting revues, operettas, and cabaret performances. During the Nazi era, it was repurposed for propaganda purposes. Following significant damage during World War II, it underwent reconstruction and reopened in 1954.

Throughout its history, the Columbia Theater has been known for its intimate atmosphere and diverse programming. In recent decades it has become a prominent venue for musical theater productions – particularly those of the Stage Entertainment company – as well as concerts and other live events. The building’s architectural style reflects early 20th-century German design with ornate detailing both inside and out.
