Roberto González-Monjas will perform at Konserthus, Oslo on December 10, 2026. González-Monjas is a Venezuelan classical guitarist known for his interpretations of both established repertoire and lesser-known works, particularly those of the Baroque and Classical periods. His playing is frequently described as possessing a refined lyricism and technical brilliance, often highlighting the expressive potential within historically informed performance practice. He regularly programs works alongside his own transcriptions and arrangements, demonstrating a broad musical curiosity.
Konserthus Oslo, officially Oslo Concert Hall, opened in 1977 and serves as the primary venue for the Oslo Philharmonic orchestra. Designed by architect Arne Henriksen, the hall’s acoustics were significantly improved in 2022 following extensive renovations led by Nagata Acoustics. The building itself is notable for its modernist architectural style and its location overlooking Oslofjord. Prior to the Konserthus’ construction, orchestral concerts were held in various locations throughout the city including Universitetsaulaen (University Aula). The hall hosts a wide range of musical events beyond orchestral performances, including chamber music concerts and solo recitals. It is considered a central cultural institution within Norway.
