Richard Andersson will perform at Norðurljós, located within the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland on July 21, 2026. Andersson is a Swedish composer and multi-instrumentalist known for his cinematic and often neoclassical instrumental music. His style frequently incorporates elements of progressive rock, ambient soundscapes, and orchestral arrangements, creating evocative and emotionally resonant pieces. He often utilizes synthesizers alongside traditional orchestral instruments.
Harpa Concert Hall, opened in 2011, is a landmark building in Reykjavik and Iceland’s largest concert and conference centre. Its design, by Henning Larsen Architects in collaboration with Batteríið Architects, is inspired by the basalt columns found naturally across Iceland and the Northern Lights – *Norðurljós* being the Icelandic name for this phenomenon. The hall’s glass façade is composed of a double-layered glass structure featuring geometrically shaped panels designed by artist Olafur Eliasson.
Norðurljós is Harpa’s smaller concert hall, seating approximately 500 people; it's specifically designed for chamber music, recitals and smaller orchestral performances due to its acoustics and intimate setting.
