La Maison Symphonique de Montréal, inaugurated in 2011, is the primary performance venue for the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. It replaced the Salle Wilfred-Pelletier, which had served as the orchestra’s home for decades. Designed by Jack Diamond and Associates, the hall is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through a unique ‘shoe box’ design incorporating adjustable elements to optimize sound for different ensembles and musical styles. The building is part of the Place des Arts complex, a major performing arts center in Montreal. Its construction aimed to address deficiencies in the previous hall's acoustics and provide a modern facility suitable for world-class orchestral performances.
