Rafael Payare will conduct a concert with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) at La Maison Symphonique de Montréal on December 2, 2026. Payare, currently Music Director of the OSM, is recognized for his emotionally resonant interpretations and technical precision. His conducting style often emphasizes clarity and dynamic range, bringing a fresh perspective to both standard repertoire and lesser-known works. He frequently champions Latin American composers alongside established masters.

La Maison Symphonique de Montréal, inaugurated in 2011, is the primary performance hall for the OSM and a leading concert venue in Canada. It was built within Place des Arts, a major performing arts complex in Montreal. The hall replaced the previous Salle Wilfred-Pelletier, which had served as the OSM’s home for decades but suffered from significant acoustic limitations. Designed by Provencher_Roy architectes with acoustics by Artec Consultants Inc., La Maison Symphonique is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics—among the best in the world—achieved through a “shoe box” design and adjustable elements allowing for optimization based on the ensemble performing.
